Project.... Rust Bucket Money Grabber?
Hello all. New to the forum on this name. I've been prowling around for quite a while now, lots of amazing info. Anyway. Let me start with saying I'm only 19 years old and I'm learning as I go.
Let me give you a brief history of my trucks. I stared off with my first truck being a 1986 C10 LWB. This thing was cheap and had a decent paint job on it. (With the occasional bug still stuck in the paint) I loved my Chevy and got hooked on these trucks, even though mine would often leave me stranded. I traded this truck a little over a year after I got it and soon would regret letting it go. My second C10 was a 1964 C10 LWB (Do you see a trend here?). This thing was ruuuuuuusty. But, I got it for a decent price and thought I could make a decent little project out of it. Well, I soon realized I could not be in high school and have a job, and still try to work on this truck. I sold this truck and also soon regretted it. Now, I'm out of high school and decided I wanted another project. I would always browse Craigslist even when I couldn't afford something. A little while ago I stumbled upon this post titled "chevy truck" and of course it caught my eye. I soon saw a 1967 C20 LWB with an original straight 6 250 and three on the tree. I had never seen a restored C20 in person, and seeing as how this was my favorite year, I had to jump on the deal. The guy was asking $1,500 and I ended up getting it for $1,200. Some may say I paid too much, but I think I got a decent deal. And I HAD to have this truck, so I was happy with my purchase. And now on to the pictures... *I'll keep updating this post with more pictures as I'm slowing rebuilding this truck. Between working 2 jobs and being enrolled full time in college, I try to find any time I can to work on it. |

Re: Project.... Rust Bucket Money Grabber?
I'm assuming the original color was white. There are tiny little chips and scratches everywhere. The truck still has the original CHEVROLET on the hood which I think is cool because every truck I had seen had them ripped off.
250 straight 6. My plans are to drop in a mild 350 and some sort of manual transmission. I just want a nice cruiser, basically. Any thoughts on what transmission I should go with? Back of the cab. Cab corners are shot. And someone had a hold drilled in the roof at some point and tried to half-ass patch it? Passenger side of my radiator support. I figured I should just replace it instead of dealing with patching. Thankfully I only live about 30 minutes away from Classic Chevy Parts in OKC. The only decent cab support on the truck. Passenger side floor rust. Thankfully it's not that far into the floor and should be easily patched. "SHOULD" Mostly stripped cab Passenger side door and front clip removed |

Welcome from Iowa.
TH350 for transmission. Inside of cab looks silver, not white. Is there a SPID in the glovebox? That should mention.

Re: Project.... Rust Bucket Money Grabber?
Thanks guys. I got off work a few hours ago and have been working on the truck since. Rust SUCKS! I'll try to grab a picture of the SPID when I can.
