67 GMC 3Grand or less rebuild
i recieved this truck from my father for free and its a little rough but i can make it a good daily driver for under 3 grand if i try.
First off i cleaned the interior painted it all black and my buddy is re skinning the dash pad with some vinal that he had lying around. then i sanded the Bed and top of the cab to remove the loose paint and primed it. i know i have some dents to pop out but ill get to them. the tailgate was Riddled with rust so i swapped tailgates with the extra one it came with. I Will Be posting Pictures Later today when i figure out how to shrink them |

Re: 67 GMC 3Grand or less rebuild
i will be smoothing the tailgate out so there will be no letters then i will buy the stickers for the GMC tailgate to make it more correct
its just the old tailgate was swiss cheese and the chevy one was free. |

i spent $100 on media blast and powder coating the white spoke rims on the truck
they should be back from the shop soon i need to spend a few hundered dollars on painting the truck my self it will be fire engine red with white top i will probably spend $100.oo on wood for the bed. the tail light lens were free from a friend its $79.00 for a new rubber floor mat. im looking to buy a new carb. or have mine rebuilt. i need to remove the fuel tank and clean it if its bad enough ill seal the inside of tank I have some more pictures of the truck ill post when i get home |

Re: 67 GMC 3Grand or less rebuild
today i decided to start by cleaning the rear-end and put two of the reciently powder coated wheels on
these pictures show the project progress. i decided to paint the drums red to match the soon to be red truck paint color. |

Re: 67 GMC 3Grand or less rebuild
i also cleaned the interior and painted it black so it would look better.
i decided on black because its easy to touch up and it will go with any exterior color. I started to make red accents in the interior to match the soon to be exterior color. you can see red on the guage cluster and the glove box emblem i also will be putting red stripes on the grooves in the door panels. |

Re: 67 GMC 3Grand or less rebuild
i still need another steering wheel but i havent decided on what style
This truck doesn't have to be a show truck this build is to create a nice daily driver / or Work truck with low maintence. if you have any suggestions on any part of this truck let me know |

Re: 67 GMC 3Grand or less rebuild
Doing great, looks a lot better!
my only suggestion would be to put a lot of time and work into the body before you get it painted. Prep work makes all the difference. Red and white will look great.

Re: 67 GMC 3Grand or less rebuild
If you are a welder you could cut the GMC script off the original gate and weld it into the chevrolet gate but thats a lot of work. but I prefer a flat smooth gate skin.
Or just cut it out ("GMC") and hang it on the wall in the garage, it makes a nice piece of garage art (i did that with my original warped rusty one).

I Reciently pulled the 283 and put in a rebuilt 350 that i painted the same color. while i had it apart i put in a new clutch and flywheel. new hoses, belts and fuel lines. it was a long 24 hour swap. but its running and moving again. more to come. |
