I know I dug this up from way in the past , but what caused this 9 out of 10 times going by the picture is simple , they hooked to something that was heavy , or say stuck in the mud , that truck is a 4 wheel drive , the locked her in 4 by , and started yanking , it will fold a wrecker in half , because they had the wrecker attached to what ever they were trying to pull really high (straight off the booms ) if they had been hooked low , it would have never happened ...I have seen this done before in person , before I realized what the guy was doing , it was to late to stop him ;( it's just the factors of leverage , a wrecker has some odd forces placed on the chassis if the operator does not know how to use the truck , I respect my 63 wrecker , and she is live and well pulling for a living to this day !
