Heater control levers
Ok I'm restoring the last of the dash incerts for the truck. Ordered new heater knobs as below.
http://www.classicparts.com/1960-63-...ctinfo/68-464/ And I ordered 1 lever (OEM one was broken) I discovered that the new knobs, are not made to stay on the old OEM levers. Before I order two more lever (and takke all the stuff apart AGAIN. Is there some fitting or clip I can order to make the new knob fit the older levers? I could put a dab of silicone on them and that woudl work (I could still removed the knobs if needed, just wanted to try and do it correct (Annal sometimes) Thanks Jake

Re: Heater control levers
I noticed that with mine too , I bought all the levers , silicone if it helps them stay put, is more than likely a better idea than epoxy ...

Re: Heater control levers
I have OEM ones, If I chicken out on the silicone, I'll order 2 more new after market (these have raised areas that work with the new levers. Believe this or not, the pain in the butt part is removing the lock/speed nuts. That takes more time than the rest ofthe restore all together.
Thanks Jake

Re: Heater control levers
The only nice thing about the repop levers is that they are not cast pieces. Most of repops Ive seen are cut from a solid piece of metal.
