Water Pump Question

ARE ALL LONG WATER PUMPS THE SAME ? WENT TO PUT ON DUAL GROOVE PULLEY I HAD AND THE PULLEY HIT THE WATER PUMP BODY.. I'VE MEASURED THE PUMP FROM MOUNTING POINT AT BLOCK TO MOUNTING POINT AT PULLEY (7 INCHES) SO I KNOW I HAVE A LONG PUMP... THOUGHT MAYBE THE PULLEY COULD HAVE BEEN FOR A SHORT PUMP SO I WENT TO PEP BOYS AND THE ONE THEY HAD LOOKED IDENTICAL TO THE ONE I ALREADY HAD..

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT

THANKS LARRY

Take your new pump back and swap for another--the pulley flange has been pressed on to far.
