I saw on spike tv show muscle car where tommy shortened a drive shaft. He cut the welds and poped the end off and cut it then cleaned everything up and lined it back up with a mark he made before cutting and then welded the end back on trying to space 4 welds in the 10, 2, 4, 8 oclock postions. I dont think he rebalanced it.

Why take the chance of ruining your U-joints? You might not feel the vibration, and it can still be out of balance. It has to be in faze also then balanced.

I turned it 180 degee's. If anything its worse. The only time I feel it is on the hiway. It's been that way since I've had the truck. I've always felt a slight wobble at above 65. Guess I'll wait till the next snow storm and go get the end fixed and get it balanced.
