Adjustable panhard

To those who have installed an adjustable panhard bar, did you have the full weight of the truck on the suspension to get the right measurement for the length??

If all goes right I hope to install it in the morning along with my 4" drop coils. Only problem is that I am already thinking that 4" isn't low enough and started to think about getting 2" blocks too.

Yes, you need the weight on the differential. My alignment man told me the trick to setting it is to measure the distance between the tires and the frame. He checked it on the alignment machine, I was only off 1/4 of a degree.

When we do them here we have the truck on the ground and measure like above post then drive it a mile or 2 and measure it again, sometimes its dead on and sometimes its off a little I guess from new parts settleing in?

I ended up not doing it today cause I had other work to do around the house.
I started to take a good look at the truck though and may not do any suspension work till I strip the paint off the truck to make sure it is worth rebuilding the truck. I was just going to do a few things here and there but I figured if I am going to start I might as well do it all once and it will be done.

The cab supports are finished along with a few holes in the floor. I don't know how much of this truck has patch panels on it so I want to see first. I may end up having to get a new cab and box. I won't know till I park the truck again and start to get all the paint off.
