6 lug to 5 lug swap

I just purchased a '68 lwb C 10 that is 6 lug. One of the guys that I work with has a '71 lwb that he is parting out and it has the 5 lug pattern. He is going to let me have whatever I need from the '71 for cheap.

My question is, how much of the front end do I need? Can I get just the spindles or do I need upper and lower A-arms?

Re: 6 lug to 5 lug swap

Are you putting in new parts or what?

If your just gonna run the old stuff.

Id get tthe entire crossmember out I think...

Otherwise spindles (youll put new bj in your a arms) steering rack calipers rotors etc etc

oh and rearend if it matchs your style too (unless u do 6lug disc rotors) (Aftermarket)

Re: 6 lug to 5 lug swap

I am going to be putting in all new parts with regards to ball joints, tie rod ends and such. His front end also has the power steering setup. Yes, the rear end is coming also.

If you both have front rotors all you need is to swap them of course if you want to swap other parts you can, but the front rotors is all you need for a conversion. the rear is another story. It could be the entire rear end or just axle swap.
