Lift question
My Jimmy had a new 6" lift (front springs, rear blocks) when I bought it. They did install a new steering arm with the lift. If I was to replace the front springs with 4" springs, would I need to replace the steering arm or should it be OK? With the springs in the front and the block in the back, I still have about 2" of sag in the rear, so I'm thinking about swapping the front springs to level it out a bit.... Any thoughts?

Re: Lift question
Sorry I don't have any help for you, but why drop the front...why not lift the rear? I'm just curious.

Re: Lift question
Mostly because I'd rather it sat a little lower anyway. I don't really want to go any higher than it already is. Its a pain to climb in an out of for anyone under 6'6" (everyone else in my family!) and I use it more for highway use than offroad. My personal preference would be a 4" lift front and back. I haven't measured to see what the lift actually is right now, but it seems like the front is about 6" and the back is only about 4". I figured swapping the front springs would level it out some and get rid of the horrible butt drag... I'm sure getting the top off this summer will help some, but I have no idea how much.

Re: Lift question
Makes total sense, I only asked because of the price difference between the 2...changing the front would also require an alignment, but hopefully someone will know if your steering arm is ok.
Oh, the top only changed my height about a quarter to a half inch higher when I took it off. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Lift question
Cool, thanks for the tip! I looked at my rear springs when I got home. The blocks are definitely 6", but I think the rear springs are sagging so much that its probably 4 - 5" above stock. The front springs, being brand new, are a good 6".

Re: Lift question
If you want less, then I'd just remove the 6" springs and blocks and sell them. Then buy 4" lift springs for all four corners. If you plan on keep it, you'll want new springs in the back sooner or later I'm sure, and if you only need/want 4" of extra height, then just replace all springs.
If you don't mind the height though...make the family deal with it then add a couple leafs to the back pack to get that extra inch or two back and give it less sag. You can probably get some leafs from a junkyard next to free and it'll level you out for now, till you swap everything. Just an idea. Nate

Re: Lift question
I don't really have any springs for the front if I pull these ones, so I'd need to buy the 4" kit up front and then try to sell after. I agree that something needs done with the rear springs for sure. They are definitely due for replacement one way or the other. Ideally I'd like to just buy EZ Ride springs all around since I use it more for daily driving than off road use. I'll do a little shopping and see what it would run me...
