Bedrug universal

Anyone used the universal Bedrug? I'm considering getting one and cutting it to fit a 72 short box fleetside.

Re: Bedrug universal

I have used them. We are dealers for Bedrug. I never used the universal but they should work as good as the specific fit models. they are easy to clean.

Is the universal a simple rectangle, with no wheel well or other cut outs?
Why does Bedrug say it is for use over a drop-in bedliner and not for use over a spray in or bare bed?

Re: Bedrug universal

I got a fitted BedRug for my 69 ... it's been a while, but I don't believe that Wise Industries, the BedRug people, stock the 67-72 products ... I think I went to Auto Custom Carpets. If I can remember tomorrow, I'll look in my receipts.

Yes you have to cut out the wheelwells. They need to screw in to something. Thats why you need a bedliner. They screw to the liner.

Less than 2 years ago I looked for a BedRug for my 69, and Wise Industries/BedRug.com didn't list a fitted one for 67-72 trucks. I called them and they said they didn't stock them due to limited demand and they told me the product was available from Auto Custom Carpets, which is where I got the fitted one. You can go to the ACC web page, do a search for your year truck, and click on Parts/Other and see the listing for BedRug.
