Did you change the fuel filter too?

Is it delevering fuel at the end of the line where it attaches to the carb?

Is it possible that the fuel line is routed too close to a heat source (like exhaust manifold/ headers) thus causing a Vapor Lock condition in the supply line?

Just some things to check.

Also, it is possible that the new pump, or carb, is bad...right out of the box...so a little tracing back of the fuel delivery system is necessary. I would unhook the fuel line at the carb and make sure the pump is squirting fuel first.

Good luck.

Pull the coil wire and crank into a milk jug. You don't want a fire.
May be stuff in the tank sucking over the screen.
