New member, old truck, need info/help
Hello all. New member working on a 68 Chevy, C-10 Custom Sport Truck, 325 hp 396, TH 400, Posi, no A/C. Added stock power steering and after-market power brake booster. The truck has matching numbers and in decent shape, but has a few issues. Does anyone have wiring diagrams for this particular truck showing the ignition, starter lock-out and tranny kick-down circuits? I found a well done color wiring diagram on this site for 67-72, but it apperas to be for a standard transmissin. I have some manuals and info from my previous older Chevys (51, 55, 66, 68) and have searched to web without success. If not, with time I can figure them out, but maybe someone can answer if this truck should have a step-down/ceramic resistor in the ignition circuit before the coil. This truck has one (maybe previous owner-installed), but it also has resistor wire in the ignition circuit from the firewall up to the factory splice before the coil and starter. The coil wire, after the splice, is connected to the ceramic resistor, then to the coil +. I recall pre-67 trucks having the resistor and 67-up having the resistor wire, but not both in the same circuit. Also having some vacuum advance/timing issues to sort out I may need some help with later. Thank you, any help appreciated.
