Now for the good stuff...
I know it's not chrome or make the truck go faster, but it sure looks better. The 77 has a pretty nice "stock" engine compartment. It needs a lot of clean up though, and I am working on that.
Here's a minor mod I made today. I put in my new LMC washer bottle... It looks a little better than the old one, huh? Now I need to get a new overflow tank...

Much better! My original bottle got busted so I got one from the junk yard. It had little black dots on it and I could never figure out what it was from. When my A/C compressor seized up, I figured it out. Molten rubber from the A/C belt! Ick!

Can you spray it with a clear coat? And when the specks start to show sand it or buff it.

A clear coat may work, but then you have to make it the right sheen, or it won't look stock. This resto stuff takes a lot more work than custom does. I think I like custom a whole bunch more now.
I am considering covering it somehow with plastic till I get it to the Super Chevy show. After that I will have to come up with another plan... |

Scoti,
I tried that, but I just couldn't do it. I had to take the old one off to clean behind it. I cleaned the cap, and painted the bolts too. Once all that was done, I just couldn't force myself to put the old one back on... |

Why don't you just wax the bottle?

Ken, what about that spray on paint mask? It goes on clear & then you wash it off w/normal tap water. I know the guys have used it before (Roger has for sure @ Legacy).
