ok i have the book thinger that has the owners name and dealership he bought it at....the 1st 6 are k1546j but the side badges say c10...any i really doubt they were changed (i mean the radiator was zip tied in place for goodness sakes!)

the "K" in your ser nbr tells you that it is a 4 x 4. if there was a "C" there instead of a "K" then it would be a 2 wheel drive. that is the only place where it rerally counts
ron
body parts for a 2 wheel dr are a lot easier to find then 4 x 4 and 4 x 4's see a loy more damage than 2 wheel
If you ever see a C in the ser nbr on a 4 whl/dr it would have been modified to be one

but all the body parks appear to be original with original paint....ill have to ask the guy i got it from and see what he says about it. he also says the motors never been worked on but theres piston numbers stamped on top of the pistons.

they didn't use zip ties to hold the rad in either back then
what the hell do you think that the "K" stands for in the ser #,
. that is how it was done
I don't give **** what the rest of it says. the ser # is what it goes by. everything else can be changed
your badges on the fenders only give the designation 10 with no letters in frt

I've got a 3/4 ton. On mine there are 2 sets of arrows on the face of the hub. 1 set pointed in, the other pointed out. Line the selector knob up with the in arrows to lock it in 4WD, line it up with the out arrows to take it out of for wheel drive. My knobs spin 360 degrees with no stops just like yours.

hey ron thanks for the info. and what i ment by the rad being zip tied in place is that it was an old work truck/ the origional paint matches, and i really doubt that they changed any of the body parts cause this thing was used hard and put away wet (hense all the dents in it) and because of teh people that owned it i really doubt they bothered with changing body parts for any reason. anyways thanks again

Okayyy - so I think we've etablished that K in the vin=4wd. But your comment caught my attention - the side badges say "C10". Do they really or is that one of those cases of the eyes see what the mind thinks is there...? Are you sure the badges on the side don't just say "10"?

C10 and K10 would both have the SAME side badge and it should just be "10". So, I'm curious what yours say. Regardless, it is clearly a 4x4 from the factory.

OMG! i am a retard! i just looked at my pics of the pickup (its at the shop right now) and it just has a 10.........yes, im stupid. i know. although i could have sworn that it said c10........anyways. on a plus side i figured out the k/c 4x4/2x4!
