Anyone have a patch panel for this?

Hey guys, I'm finally stripping and doing rust repair on my cab (woohoo!). I've come across this spot in the top of the door jam that's pretty badly rotted. Does anyone make a patch for this area, Or would it be just as easy for me to try and shape a new piece of metal??

Thanks for the info!!

Chileware....http://sacramento.craigslist.org/pts/2838709907.html

You could sell the rest of the cab in patch panels.....

Not a good pic ,but you can see i cut out that section and made my own piece...i was lucky to find some scrap metal the same thickness and it had the 45 bend for the pinchweld.Make a model out of thin cardboard first

Hey awesome! That's what I needed to see, so it can be done! lol! I'm gonna give it a shot, this weekend or next. I'll post pics of how it goes.

I have a 30" metal bending brake I picked up at Harbor Freight some time back, but never user it. This looks like the perfect opportunity.

I can cut one out of my 60 parts burb. Doesn't look that bad though. might want to just braze up the holes, or use "cats hair filler"

Of course a piece from a donor truck would be ideal, but if you have a metal brake why not try to make it...this truck has been a learning experience for me,and this site has been very valuable for info

Interesting idea, I hadn't thought about that. Think that's really a good way to go?
