Hood Adjustment?

Most cars I have worked on in the past have screw deals to adjust the front corners of the hood. My burb doesnt have any nor have I seen any place that they would have been. Am I missing something simple?

maybe there is a hole in the core support where a backplate for the hood adjustment rod screws into?

I know I have seen this on some trucks (like my 68) and it can thow you off because the hole is usually large, and there is a body clip (threaded) that pops in that hole and creates the thread for the adjustment bolt... hope this helps

Re: Hood Adjustment?

It looks like there are two holes in the hood itself that may be what they are used for, holes are very small and of course missing the bump stops.

Re: Hood Adjustment?

There are no screw post adjusters on our hoods. Adjustments are done at the hinges, and by the height of the hood latch post. Post #16 on the following thread shows the factory adjustments from the shop manual:

On Page 14-40 of the print screens it shows the outer bumpers and says it needs to be adjusted to 3/16" gap.

Right now my hood closes and is metal on metal so apparently I am missing the outer bumpers

Re: Hood Adjustment?

Yes they are solid rubber square blocks that screw to the outer corners of the hood.

Re: Hood Adjustment?

My camera just didn't want to focus on these, but here's some pics of the front and rear hood bumpers on our burb...

Re: Hood Adjustment?

Thanks for the pics, my hood has the rear ones but not the front. Looks like LMC has some rivet ones.
