What are you guys using for air tank drains?

I have a 5 gallon tank that sits outside the truck and i have replaced the drain cock twice. They always seem to start leaking for some reason. IM just using the cheap ones you would put on the bottom of a compressor.

Anything out there that would be better???

Re: What are you guys using for air tank drains?

I ran a 1/4" ptc off the bottom of my tank and connected it using some left over air gauge line to a schrader valve next to my license plate. It should serve as both a drain as well as spot to fill up the tank if ever needed. Not incredibly noticable if you ask me:

How does the water drain out if you get moisture in your system?

If you check with your local aftermarket truck parts supplier in your area you might be able to pickup an autodrain that screws into the bottom of tank they usually drain at 120psi

I haven't had any air in it yet but figured that you'd just push the schrader pin in to let air out and all the water would come out 1st since it would be at the bottom just like normal.
