I agree with the get it in writing.Make it specific.List requirements such as door /body panel gaps,timeline,specific tasks(such as seam sealers and such),penalties for lack of progress,quality of materials,completion date,and lack of completion penalty.If the body/paint person isn't willing to stand behind his work,and put his money/reputation on the line,then you want soeone else.

ok i talked to him for a little bit this morning... and hes all for me keeping the bike and title until its done to satisfaction. Hes wanting to do all the paperwork and have everything in writing...I think im gonna give it the go ahead... GOD im gonna miss my bike, but ill have a new toy to drive around in...

i did a surprise visit to see what state he was in and when he was gonna be able to pick up my truck.....he had another truck in the shop that he was tearing down that he just bought, the 68 that was sitting in front of the shop now torn apart to the frame and still working on the ranchero....i think this deal is a no go....no initiative to get my stuff done....

^Yup, when it comes down to it money is what pays his bills, not a toy he wants. Is there anything in your "agreement" that prohibits him from partially finishing, stopping, and requesting payment instead?

well, thats the problem. he doesnt have the truck yet, i do. but when you say i dont have the room right now because i gotta get this car out, yada yada yada.... actions speak louder than words and thats all i see....actions not matching his words....
