Re: 1971 c30

It is a handle on the hood. Not sure why but the fella that owned it was not that tall so it may have made it easier for him. He was well into his 70's and still working so that is my guess.

Great looking truck. Do you have a close up pic of the option list on the glove box door?

When I got looking at the body it is rust free as best I can tell and they said it was kept inside till 2 years ago when the owner passed away. I don't have room for the truck and was wondering what the market is for a truck like this. I am going to go back this afternoon and look at it a little better and see it run. They drive it around every couple of months and say it all works and runs fine.
Thanks

Re: 1971 c30

I have some one coming back on Friday that says he is going to take it. No money yet but he spent half a day here on Sunday and has come buy a half a dozen times trying to buy it all. It took me longer to get it running well than I planned due to my back. He wanted the entire package including the welder and I worked on the welder first and I was surprised on how nice it welded and almost did not sell it. He is trying to start a small welding business so I agreed. I really think he will take it and I hope he does well. He is a very good welder and appreciates both the old welder and the history and style of the truck. My goal was to rescue this old truck and I think it is cool she will continue to do what it has done for more than 40 years.

Great looking truck the guy in post #23 is well know his flatbed and the one on your is the same they are factory blatbeds and not so easy to find kind of rare and the only way you see any thing inside the glove box lid if the flatbed was put on a truck at a dealership but if its factory you will see a 9 in the Vin number

Re: 1971 c30

Well the truck has a new home and he has been working on it all winter. Last I heard he has taken the original bed and stripped all the rotted wood and metal plate patches and re did it in all steel. Kept the look just made it more usable for a welding truck. The welder has new paint and not sure what else has been done. I need to drop him a line and get some pictures.
