Are you? Read up on this stuff. Heath diesel has a 500hp 6.5. He had a 650hp one back in the 90's with a 16 cylinder injection pump that ran 5500 rpm.The P400 and 6500 are amazing. Also, a company in sweden has been making a 475hp supercharged P400 for $20K for boats for about 6 years now. It is'nt as hard as you think. It is however costly.

500hp 6.5 = $10K +
500hp Cummins = $4K +/-

But a high hp 6.5 is a helluva lot more unique than the usual Cummins swap.
