how do you drop a tank?
hey guy's I'm new to the square body forum. I just bought an 86 1/2 ton gmc. I filled up the passenger side tank this morning and found it doesn't hold gas. I pulled out the plastic cover and now need to drop tank. I was wondering if there is an easy way or the best way to drop a tank that's full of gas.
thanks ian |

Re: how do you drop a tank?
Put a block of wood under it and a floor jack. prolly the easiest. If you can take off the box that's a bonus but not necessary. Remove both hangers from the frame and unhook the fuel lines from the sending unit. Be safe!

Re: how do you drop a tank?
Like above stated it is pretty easy. I did it with one of my friends but I could have done it by myself. It will be much much easier if you are able to siphon the gas into another container first though.
