Should i snag it

Well I heard through the grapevine that a guy I know had an old burb sittin out to pasture, So I went for a little ride today to have a look.

It is a 68 GMC 1/2 ton 2wd that is pretty bare, Fair body and a frame. I've been looking for somthing like this to build into a decent 4x4.This is sort of a blank canvas so to speak. Plans would be a 12v Cummins, NV4500, 205,D60/HO72.

I have some of the stuff for the interior and I also have a super clean set of Burb doors and the rest of it I have found at local yards for cheap.

So What say you? Snag it for 3 benjamins?

There are $300 worth of heater and heater/ac controls in there.

Re: Should i snag it

The lift gate has some rust in the bottom and so does the tail gate. It shouldn't be to much trouble to fix. It also has the usual rust in the rockers and in the wheel arches. Should be pretty easy to match the original paint too.

I wish it had barn doors though.

Re: Should i snag it

The only question I would ask myself is....self, do you have the time, money and patience to complete the project, if I answer yes to all 3.....Then Yes, get it!!!

BTW...if the "G" was on that rear GMC emblem, definitely a rare emblem
