Picked up a donor truck!
Well, I went and picked up a donor for '64 step side. This one is a long fleet but I mostly just needed a cab and this is a pretty nice peice for 800 bucks.

Re: Picked up a donor truck!
Yeah, this truck is pretty nice but I must build the Short Step my father left me for reason's I am sure a lot of you can understand. I really didn't think the truck would be this nice for 800, I didn't even have the heart to try and hagle the price LOL.

Re: Picked up a donor truck!
That's a heck of a donor truck there. That find along with a few other recently discovered gems that have appeared on the board, remind me that we indeed are still in the "the good ol days", when decent whole parts trucks could be had for fairly cheap.
Stop and look around fellas, 'cause this twilight ain't gonna last forever. Those days are gone for the Chevelle, Camaro and Nova crowds, and we are soon going to follow in their footsteps. So, enjoy while we have the chance to pursue our hobby without the constraints of mass popularity working against us. Yes, we still have it good. |

Re: Picked up a donor truck!
Agreed Oem4me, I joked with my wife on the way home that I would restore both of the trucks as we passed yet another one sitting in a field LOL. But Air Force pay isn't going to cover that at all.
For what it is worth guys, this trucks bed is not that great and I will be using most of this truck to get my short step done. With any luck I will send this truck out of here with the old body from mine and someone with more skill can restore it. I am not out to junk either one. Jay |
