My New Library
I planning a engine rebuild and decided I needed some knowledge. So I received most of these in the last few days. I'm reading through them now.
 Anything I forgot?

That top book,How to rebuild your small block chevy,is one of the best.It's pretty thorough.Another good one is How to hotrod your small block chevy.

Here you go Achevy. It is How to rebuild you small block Chevy by David Vizard. I have read all the way through it and it is real good. It goes through all the different small blocks and tells the differences. Has some good data on when you need a rebuild and how to perform the checks. Then it goes through the removal, tear-down, inspection, and reassembly.
At first glance I was disappointed by the Factory manuals, the assembly manual and Service Manual. I guess I was expecting something different. I was expecting a lot more detail, and all the specifications. Of all the books I have all I get are "round about" tolerances, and thats if they give tolerances at all. So far I have been getting all my tolerances from the internet. And while I trust you guys, I only trust you so much. I was expecting the service manual to have ALL tolerances. I guess I was just spoiled back in the day with my Volkswagen Factory service manual for my old bug. That was an EXTREMELY detailed technical manual with every tolerance you could think of and ones you never would. It went into so much detail on engine work including how to straighten the rods and to what tolerances and a lot more. Does anyone know of a place to get these? I was thinking chevy would have published something that gives all the details.

I'm liking the blueprinting book. My favorite part is that they have a worksheet in the back to photocopy. It has places for all the measurements you need to take. It would be a good reference for later, not to mention wont let you forget a critical measurement.
