7" headlights with H4 bulbs

I've got a pair of 7" replacement headlights with Ultra white H4 bulbs. Purchased from GMC Pauls. Never been removed from packing and certainly never installed. Going a different direction. Paid $40 for housings, $12 for bulbs and $16+ for shipping.

Will sell for $52 shipped. You basically get free shipping.

Re: 7" headlights with H4 bulbs

Are these a direct replacement? No need for rewiring or? Thanks

Re: 7" headlights with H4 bulbs

That's my understanding. 3 prong H4 bulbs to fit factory harness.

Re: 7" headlights with H4 bulbs

Not that anyone asked but you'd want to add a set of headlight relays before running these.

Re: 7" headlights with H4 bulbs

Yes. These are chevy lights. I've never tried, but I could take a pic of them fitted in a chevy bucket and retainer ring if you like. I'll do that when I get back home. Michael has dibs as of now.

Re: 7" headlights with H4 bulbs

Ok just got home and test fitted the lights. Here is a bone stocker as it came off my truck.

This is one of the lights for sale. Looks to fit the retaining ring fine.

But I ran into a little clearance issue on the bucket which I find suprising. Maybe GMCPaul can clear this up, but the bucket needs a little clearancing to clear the rear of the housing. It's a very small amount, I just didn't have time to try it tonight.

Re: 7" headlights with H4 bulbs

I did these on my 68 Panel. Use a pair of pliars to fold back about a 1/8 -1/4 in. of the bucket and they fit snug to the rubber boot. Never had an issue with them but didnt use a relay. Just curios why I would need a relay.

Re: 7" headlights with H4 bulbs

Cool man ill use the pliers method. H4 uses more electricity so when you hook up relays and do a little rewiring, the bulbs draw current from the battery instead of the switch,
