Finally got a C60
but it is the wrong year? I had my brother inlaw that had quit farming give me his old grain truck. He had told me some time ago I could have it if I wanted it. It is a 65 or 66 I havenot even looked at it. I sent my nephew to go drag it home and he came up late this afternoon driving it . My bro in law said the brakes were bad but the guy that went up after it [about 50 miles away] cleaned out the m/c and put a hot battery on it and fired it up. Headlamps tailamps turn signal horn all work as well as the dump part of the bed. I am gonna cut down the sides halfway to throw scrap metal in the just drive it to the metal yard to dump out the iron and that will help clean my shoplot. My plans for a C60 [67-72 model of course] are to put a fleetside bed on it with grafted fenders and a 454 t400 and disc brakes with 19.5 tires just to start. It will come home to me soon

Re: Finally got a C60
Nothing wrong with a '65 or '66. They are all great trucks.

Re: Finally got a C60
Sounds like it will be a sweet truck. I've always wanted to do the same thing.

Re: Finally got a C60
If it is in decent shape then it would also make a cool fleetside. The first truck I ever drove was my granddad's 64 c10 so I'm pretty partial to that series as well.

Re: Finally got a C60
I am gonna do a fleetside C-60[Lord willing] someday. I will leave this 65 or 66[I really need to look at this truck] with the dump bed on it. I think it will be handy to have the big truck backed out by the shop somewhere and leave it to throw scrap onto. It has 28 thousand miles and a 6 with a 4speed and 2 speed rear. I won't hotrod it or lower it or put in a different motor or custom paint or anything just fix the brakes and leave it alone just to be different from every other project I 've ever done. Now the 70 c-60 that is another story, got it all planned out, chrome simulatorsbigblock auto with power steering and disc brakes. Tilt wheel, tach dash, glove box radio, underdash air. Two tone paint just to name a few things as a teaser

Re: Finally got a C60
The 6 will just about be sure to be a 292. Great engine.
Looking forward to the pictures. Bill
