Size: 56.8 KBSo i swapped out my buckets for a 60/40 from a 88 gonna have some old school vinyl put on them and have the rear done to match hopefully will be able to have some sort of scroll design put on them so they will resemble something from the period (will post pics when i have them done ) , I got two little passengers a 5 year old and a 8 month old that can ride better on these than the buckets , The buckets are from a 72 and in good shape frames metal are still shinny underneath where you can see around the foam , the driver slidder and passengers mount are from a 73 and have been powder coated , all around there pretty awsome buckets and looks like some buckets in pretty bad shape can bring some big bucks , would i be best just to put them in the closet and forget i have them for down the road or should i put them up for sale and if i do whats a good price to ask ?

Re: bucket seat swap

most of the guys here that are looking for buckets are wanting the 71-72 seat brackets
even still I would think you could get 500 for those. What about the console? If yours is in pretty good shape you can fetch another 100-150 or so for that. most likely enough to fund the new seats and new covers.
good luck

Re: bucket seat swap

Must make rear seat access tough, but I think that's about the best looking factory seat swap you can do.

Re: bucket seat swap

Sorry no console ! And thank you I was thinking that would be a good asking price cause i ve seen some in pretty terrible shape be for sale for around that , they were covered years ago but still very nice drivers , and you read my mind i was hoping if i sell them to fund the re cover on the others but i know when there gone chances are i would have to pay around that for some that were in alot worse shape if i ever wanted to go back with buckets or if i got another project, maybe ill talk myself into putting them on the for sale forum . Its not bad to get in the back im about 220 not a very small guy and tried and it wasnt bad, the seat will slide forward the frame is from a xtra cab but the seat hits the twin sticks right now but in a couple months those are coming out and im putting a 4 speed in and gonna put a different case in with the stock stick so it will be a little more forward than the twin stick so then the seat will slide up some and make it even better for getting in the back .

Re: bucket seat swap

If I were you I would put them in the closet and forget about them. Guaranteed that no matter what you get for them, it will cost you double to replace them.

Re: bucket seat swap

Worst thing I ever did was replace my original seats with high back buckets out of an 80s k5. Just gave the original seats to the shop that did the work for me. Bin wishing I had not done that for a long time now.
