I have read up on the "how to's" but i still am afraid i will scratch new glass or black paint.Do i put window felts and glass runners in before i put glass in door.My plan is to install mirrors,door handles and locks,regulator,door glass,vent windows in this order.When do i put felts,glass runners in?

Felt goes last. Use lots of painters tape to keep scratches off, line the whole top of the door, inside and out.

You're order seems fine. It's been a long time since I did mine, but I think I had the stuff in the door, with the vent window loosely screwed in. I then lined up the glass/regulator with their slots in the door and glass, then moved the regulator into position and loosely screwed it together, then the angled runner was last. The channel felt will slide down into the door just fine. Get your vent window tight and everything else tight, roll down the window, and start the channel felt tight to the vent window, do the top of the door, then slide it down into the channel, you should be able to slide it a bit for a good fit. Inner felt and outer rubber strip go on last. I haven't done mine since 2006, but I think that's how I did it.

Tape Tape and more tape. Install the regulator first- be sure you have it with the correct door. Install the inner roller in the door track and bolt the reg. in loosely. Roll the reg to the top of the door and install glass into reg. Roll window down and slightly push glass toward the front of the door (but not out of track). Install the rear support into the door but do not bolt down I just let it lay against back of door. Slide glass to rear of door and Install vent window. You will have to turn 180 * to get to install and gently put it into place at the corner. Be sure the rubber is inside the door frame for vent windows and screw down using the three screws at the door frame. Slide the window forward and install the window frame rubber. Once the rubber goes down into the door you will have to work the felt into place at the rear frame corner and the lower support track. Loosely install the upper screw/bolt 1/2" then install the lower two phillips screws. Install the phillps screws fro the vent windows and roll up the glass to help finally seat the felt into the lower track and rest of frame. finally install the inner and outer wipes with the windows rolled down. You will have to look at the position of the clips and this wwill be the place you will most likely run the risk of scratching the paint if you are not extremely careful! Trim the wipes as ness. to insure the best fit and move to the other side and the clips are snapped into place. This is easy if you take your time but dont be timid, If it were rocket science we would all be flying to the moon.

If you wasn't on the other end of the state I'd come by and help you with it, I've rebuilt a few doors, these fella's have already told ya what you need to do just take you're time if you get agrivated walk away come back later don't force anything.Check these links out.

Thanks for the great info.When i read the 2nd. link R.L. posted i have to scroll over left and right.When i print it i can't read all of it it cuts out some of the right side words.I have run into this before when trying to print something.How can i correct this so i can see the whole page when printed?
