Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Re: Crank pulley for an 88-up 454

No just the crank pulley. I'm gonna be using SBC serpentine setup, everything off the donor engine can be used, but need said big block pulley. There is a kit on evilbay that bolts to the block, then the brackets bolt to them. They give a part number for the pulley, the one that I have doesn't match this number. Dunno what is different, but it's off a 91 or 92 3500HD truck. I don't have the any of the parts yet to test fit to see if it would work or not. If I can find the right one, be no questions. Part number I need is 10085753.

They make a billet pulley adapter to use the sbc crank pulley too. The serpentine bbc crank pulleys are expensive new & hard to find used. The stuff I found used was as an 'all or none' lot requiring me to buy everything & then deal w/parting the remaining pieces out.

I opted for the easy way out & got the billet adapter to use w/the 'dime-a-dozen' sbc stuff....

That is sweet. I did some checking on the one that I have, think it's the same thing, just different part number.

The kit seems nice enough. My only complaint so far is the water-pump pulley doesn't line-up w/the rest.

I'm using a higher end WP (Stewart Components) but BBC CCW rotation WP's should all be the same size. My WP/fan pulley is easily .250" off vs. the rest. I hit several parts stores today looking for spacers w/no luck. I'll have to wait until next week & hit my local Smiley's perf shop for some.

Re: Crank pulley for an 88-up 454

Using that spacer is an option if my pulley won't work. But eventually I will have more accessories to line up, which could be interesting...
