Re: Factory cd player picture
In 1989 CD players were the size of VCRs and limited to home use.

Re: Factory cd player picture
I know sometime after 1987, they switched over to the large GM opening (DIN 1.5) instead of shaft mount. I don't know if a CD player ever came stock in one of these trucks, but I do know that you can get a CD player out of a newer truck or car and it should mount up and plug right in to the harness. I think around 2003, they switched to double DIN size radios in trucks so those will not work. Gotta love GM for keeping the same connector the whole time!

Re: Factory cd player picture
probably would have been something similar to this, they had a few different ones with different color faces and different knobs. I know the pontiac ones had a grey face.

Re: Factory cd player picture
The 89 R/V series crew cabs, blazers and suburbans were the first years to have the large opening. They only had cassettes from the factory. Even the 88-98 C/K trucks didn't get CD players till 95ish.
