Getting rid of the scary lift on my 70
I thought I would share some of the scary stuff I'm cutting off the K20. Note the sweet front lift blocks, add a leafs (Im thinking they took them out of the back pack) and the degree shims. lol!

Here is the awesome steering spacer that was broken in half. Nothing like relying on just the bolts to hold it together.

I'm putting on a 4" Rough Country lift, with new Off Road Designs greasable rear shackles. As you can see from these pics the stock shackles were scary to say the least. The pass side inside one looked like someone had taken a torch to it at one point. It broke in half the second I tried to take it loose. The drivers was all bent and would hit the frame on a bump.

So uh... like how much would I be able to buy that used lift from you for??
Sorry just had to ask, if I didnt some other smart a$$ would. Those lift blocks look pretty sketchy, and I was always told front lift blocks were a BIG no no.

Thanks guys. It wouldn't have taken much to make it look better than it did. Heres the new steering arm. I got new studs and cones to replace the 6" long bolts they had in there. The old ones didn't even come out that hard. Must have worked themselves loose from the spacer being broke.

Its amaizing how much better it drives already. I actually have steering wheel return and no crazy noises in the front. Now I just have to get the scary rear lift taken care of. More to come when I get that far...

I drove it across the street to the drive through. I thought I was gonna die. The previous owner drove it down the highway on a regular basis. You couldnt have payed me to take it that fast.

Just noticed, but does that truck have a sway bar in the front? The pad that the ubolts goe through are threaded like for the bolt that connects a sway bar. Im only asking cause the 76 front axle I just got has the same thing and I was thinking of using the sway bar if possible.

No it doesnt have a sway bar. The PO swapped in the axle out of a newer truck. I put back on the right U bolt brackets without the holes drilled in them.

Well I got the rear all done. Thought I would share the back custom-ness LOL I gues that two pieces of 2" square tubing should make a 4" lift block, right?

Lol no, actually. The hose pliers on the rear brake hose keep the pedal pretty firm. Im still trying to come up with some cores for my rear calipers. The parts store only wants $20 for the calipers but $36 for the dang cores.

Look at the difference in the rear shock lenghts. The old ones were some rusty rancho 5000's I think they were older than me. Fully extended they were about 3 1/2 feet long.
