I drove my truck!
Neener neener neener
It was the first ride in over two years and even though it was just around the corner to the gas station and then down the street a few blocks, it was soooo cool. Been working pretty hard on it the last few weeks. Fixing tranny leaks, engine leaks, lights, gages, power steering, and all around reassembly. I'm jacked! It still needs some little parts here and there, but it's coming along nicely. HG

Great!
I'm hoping maybe mid-October. . . . .

I'm mostly glad that all the little things that I've worked on the last month or so all worked. Had one problem this morning though. Truck wouldn't start, didn't want to turn over. I jumped it and it seemed ok, then just flat out died. No lights or anything.
Turns out that when I fixed a loose connection on the starter and put it back in, the battery cable wasn't positioned properly and shorted on the header. Easy fix, and back on the road. Went to a friends place and he was gone, but his wife wanted to look it over. Told her about the road noise problem, steel floor, no sound insulation, high revs, etc. The truck is just idling and she says, it doesn't seem that loud. Shes holding her youngest in her arms. I tell her it's a bit noisier with some throttle and I make the baby cry. I kind of had split feelings on that. On one side, I'm kind of sorry to scare the little kid. On the other side I'm thinking, Yeah, this is cool. I'm a bit of a bad boy aren't I The only pictures I have are several years old and only one of those is at its best. Mostly pics of when it was tore up. Now its in a condition I like to call "monochromatic calico with a rust patina" Once I have pics, you'll see what I mean. HG
