Few Pics of My 62

I just realized I've been on this board a couple years now and never posted any pics of my truck. It's a 62 with a 61 grille. Really would like to find a 60-61 Chevy hood for it. In the past year since I've had it I have gone thru the brakes, swapped the rear end for a D44 from a 61 GMC, added a dual master cyl, dropped in a low mileage 350 engine and trans from a 73 C20, replaced rockers, and tons of other little things that I can't remember right now. Has Jeep springs out back and I have had the torsion bars cranked down alot in the past but couldn't stand the ride so I raised the front end back up. I think it looks a little meaner with the way it sits now anyway.

Re: Few Pics of My 62

Looks good!!! I have to admit, if my truck had the original hood I would have passed on it. Im not a big fan of the early hoods but I do like the knee knockers!!

Re: Few Pics of My 62

Thanks guys! 61flapache-I've been admiring your truck on here for a while now and had mine sitting that low at one time but I guess I'm just not used to driving lowered trucks, mine scraped everywhere and rode terrible!

Re: Few Pics of My 62

I Like it thanks for posting some pictures of your truck, I used to rock the tail drag look on my first 50's car, until i learned how to cut the front springs

Re: Few Pics of My 62

Thanks for posting pics, your truck looks great. I looked for a 1960 Chevy hood for my GMC for about 15 years and never came up with one in good enough condition to buy. Eventually I came to prefer the late Chevy hood better. Good luck on finding one, I do think it would make a nice addition.

Yep, nice looking truck, like the stance, the slight nose high attitude looks good with the windshield profile, lets see some more pics!

Re: Few Pics of My 62

Was the rear end swap hard? I have access to a junk 61 that has the dana rear end. I noticed the shock mounting location was different. How about the length compared to the 63 12 bolt? Are they about the same length?

there's definitely an art to driving really low trucks/cars...just the price you pay to look cool ....but i appreciate nice, regular height trucks just as much as lowered

that's a nice '62 you have there...i think the eyebrow hood would look cool if you come across a nice one...i used to not like them, however they have grown on me

Re: Few Pics of My 62

Those both will be the same width (length), but not a direct bolt in. The trailing arms are farther apart on the '60-'62's as compared to the '63-'72's. May I ask why you would want to change a 12 bolt for a weaker Dana 44?

I know this wasn't meant for me but the reason I swapped to the D44 was because my truck had a 10 bolt with the small 5 lug pattern out of a 70's Buick in it when I bought it. I just wanted the 6 lug pattern back on mine.
