Question I dont think my new dash pad is Medium Blue... Do you?

I just got my new dash pad from LMC for my 72 GMC. I really don't think it's the correct color . It's supposed to be Medium Blue, and it's like a light Aqua or silverISH blue. Well yall take a look and tell me what you think!

Actually from the top two pics, it looks about like the medium blue vinyl on my original 67 door panels where they were folded over the metal panels and protected from the sun, kinda a silvery blue as you say.

Sadly it won't match my "Soon to be" medium blue headliner, seat cover, dash, door panels or steering wheel. It just aint going to look right!

Re: I dont think my new dash pad is Medium Blue... Do you?

Looks good to me!

My truck is light blue 507. Medium blue is 506. According to the 1968 Truck Data Book medium blue 506 is a metallic color. The paint chip looks to be fairly close to the color of your dash pad.

I wasn't so sure about the colors either so I went ahead and did a black dashpad and carpet.

What are you planning on doing now?

Keith

My 68 GMC is light blue and the original dashpad is a little darker than the one you got.

Re: I dont think my new dash pad is Medium Blue... Do you?

Some of you shuld realize this thread is about the correct color for a '72,not '68 or any of the other shades of Blue GM used in other years. The problem with reproduction interior pieces is usually there will be only one choice for each color. It seems that changes, too, even with the same company. The pad I bought for my '72 in '01 is the medium blue that I believe 72GMCK-2500 was looking for. It's real hard to get the correct match year by year and about impossible to get all pieces to match. Even from the factory all pieces could have varied. But vinyl matched vinyl.

I/we realize that buddy. I sent it in for comparison purposes since mine is original stock color. He can check to see if it matches the rest of his truck.

Your right Special-K. I realized there was a differnce in years but thought just maybe the paint code would be the same. It is not according to TCPglobal.
