Uneven drop spindles? I'm no expert but can this be right?
Maybe I'm being a bit extreme, but shouldn't these (the machined spindle) be centered? and if not centered, shouldn't they at least be located in the same place from left to right?
spindle 1 spindle 2 These are McGaughy's, I ordered them form USautoparts.net |

I'm not sure but something does look off there, are they new?

Yes these are brand new. I've been looking for pics of others and they all look perfectly centered with the dust shield tap slightly off.
even though this shot is at an angle, you can still see that the spindle is machined in the center (unless it was photoshoped) as this is probably a stock photo. |

here's another of an actual purchased spindle installed by custom classic trucks: http://www.customclassictrucks.com/t.../photo_26.html It's slightly off center but the second one isn't shown for comparison. |

could it be that the geometry will still line up because of how they are machined?

Contact the manufacturer and ask them. Maybe they can tell you if it looks off.

hey man, for what its worth.
I just looked back at my photos from when I installed my spindles. They where a bit of centered as well. But I think when they drill them they do it in a jig, so the dimensions between holes are correct. Here are the images of my install ( December 2011) -=Scott=- |

These spindles are cast, the have to be machined before the spindle pin can be pushed into the housing. Those are just very worn out or poorly made cast molds.

ya they got a good amount of core shift! (when the plug in the cast moves) and were machined to spec they are of center. just cheaply done in china like everything else nowdays. lots of them look like that from chassie tech. look ok to use really.
