combination switch on steering column doesn't work

can the combo switch be swapped with another or do I have to buy an entire new steering column with the switch

If you need a new combination switch, it is a fairly simple matter to get at it, you'll need a steering wheel puller, a locking plate compressor, and a phillips screwdriver. You can build a locking plate compressor / wheel pulled using a remotely thick peice of steel with three holes drilled at the right distance apart, make sure the middle one is big enough to get the steering column top through it so you can bolt it onto the shaft, then drive two screws down into the wheel, or down onto the locking plate

The combination switch that came with the truck is a turn signal with..


cruise control
high beam switch
intermitent wiper


pretty much the same kind of switch that you find in the camaro's
