5.3 4L60e In 84 k5 Blazer
Well Hello everyone!
I've been crusing these forums for a few months getting ideas, and really like all the solid information that is available here. So I decided to finally sign up and go ahead with my plans for a 5.3 4L60e swap into my 84 K5. I live in a location that is remoteish, and where the winter temps regularly hit -50c. Distance between towns and communities is usually 300-500kms and reliability is a huge issue, and lets just say the tired old 305 needs to be retired. I have the opprotunity to travel down south for a couple days and figured it would be the best time to get myself an engine and transmission. Engine and transmission is out of a 2008 silverado 4x4. I would like to be able to grab everything I need out of that truck and ship it up north via Buffalo Airways. I'll give you a list of the items I believe I will need, and if I am missing something I would hope someone would chime in. 1) 5.3L and 4L60e 2) Harness 3) PCM 4) Electric Pedel assembley 5) fuse Block 6) Gas tank 7) Electric Fans Also I have been having difficulty finding information about adapting my current guage cluster to be used with this engine trans combination. As well if anyone is aware of someone that also did this SAME swap into a 80-90 K5 and has a build page if you would be able to send me a link!! Thank you all for your time and help in this matter it is greatly appreaciated!! I look forward to having many more discussions with you all in the future! |

An '08 will have separate ECM and TCM, not a PCM. So ECM, TCM, MAF, as many hoses and lines a possible, OBD2 port. Thats all I can think of for now.

03 was the first year for all trucks to get DBW and will have one PCM. Be sure to get the Throttle Actuator Control(TAC) box too.

Re: 5.3 4L60e In 84 k5 Blazer
Alright.. turned out it is out of an 08 4x4 sierra 5.3 LH6 so aluminum block.
5.3 Recieved the full harness the ECM but not TCM Pedel assembly with Module (However the wires were cut shortly after the module) ALL Sensors All Accessories Coolant bottle, P/S rad all hoses to hook up the coolant system. Cat's with 4 O2 sensors hooked up? Really?! odbII port (just the port nothing else) Wasn't able to get the Trans this time around. All this for $1300 |

if you got the trans too but just haven't picked it up....thats a decent price I guess. Now if its for the 5.3 only....seems like 6.0 money, tho the aluminum block 5.3's do bring more money.
