new owner with a wheel/tire question

first off, i have used the search button to no avail. haha.

i am picking up a 67 swb chevy tomorrow. it is lowered already. not sure how far. my question is, what is the widest rear tire that can go on the back? i know the bed floor can be built around it, just not sure before it hits the frame. i was thinking 20's on the front and 22's on the back. or 20's or 22's all the way around to match. thanks for the help with my first of a thousand questions. haha. i am really excited to get my truck. been wanting one for 20yrs almost.

Re: new owner with a wheel/tire question

Welcome to the board.

With the correct backspacing,... you can stuff a 10" rim under the rear fenders easily.
If you mini-tub the wheelwells, you can put a 12" wide rim under there,... again, with the correct backspacing.
Some people are even using the new 405/25-24 Pirelli tires on a 24x15 rim.
(Im sure you will need to make a few mods to the rear suspension)

Real world,... I would go with a 20x10 or 22x10 on the back.

22x10 with like a 35 series tire? i would rather fix the tubs then chop on the frame.

thanks. the pic really does not do it justice i think. it does not look as low as it is in the pic. i already ordered a budnik steering wheel for it. will go to my local parts store my friend runs on fri for a ididit column, a under bed gas tank and hopefully get a 90's bench seat at the salvage yard. the gas pedal fell off sometime the guy said so i will get a fancy set of those. then all the little things will be done. maybe.
