????qjet?????

i got a stupid question how do you tune the fuel mixture on a elec choke quadra-jet....got the carb rebuilt now i need to set it up so it will run right

there should be air and fuel mixture screws near the base run it and tune it till it smooths out

Look under the front of the carb,on each side of the large (pcv)hose on the base.You should see 2 mixture adjustment needles,if it has been done previously. If not you'll see 2 metal plugs. Turning these needles,is what adjusts the idle mixture. Turning them to the right,leans the mixture,and left richens it.The engine must be warm,and certain steps taken,one at a time to do it properly. Can you see the carb ID #,on the driver's side of the carb,by the throttle?(i.e,11082152,etc)runs vertically. It will help to find the correct procedures.

Let it idle and turn in clockwise one at a time not too tight just til they stop. It should start to miss. Turn them out till they don't miss. One at a time. Usually about 1-2 full turns out.
