bed mounting 51, hidden bolts?

just tore all my old bed apart, and cant use any of it exc except the 3 cross sills...
Anyone use the hidden bolt strips? if so,,,how did you mount the bed to the frame? since there are none that go through the wood..
did you just use short bolts and bolt the cross sills to the frame, reached from under the bed?

would that be possible even if you used bolt showing wood strips?

You bolt the bed down first then place the wood.
You will need to releive the wood in 4 spots where the head if the carriage bolts interfer with the wood.

Re: bed mounting 51, hidden bolts?

I used strip bolts but hidden bed bolts. Just bolt your cross sills to the frame and a relief for the head in the bed wood (or in my case bed plastic) I used trex plastic decking.

Go to boltdeopot.com to buy ss bolts in boxes of 100 for a lot less than the bolt kits

Notice that I also used standard angle iron on my bed sides

Re: bed mounting 51, hidden bolts?

bolt the bed first, u should have a box on each corner over the frame, use shorter bolts, then get u a strait edge of some kind that will go from front cross seal to rear cross seal, then mount your cross seals, its easy an it looks alot better
