Re: exhaust tips and exits
I like the look of the side exit behind the tire but if its driven a lot any tip you put on it gets ugly after a while I've had chrome and stainless they just get to beat up in that location

Re: exhaust tips and exits
Underside looks about like Aaron's. I had them tucked up where you couldn't see them for awhile, I ended up dropping the tail pipes about an inch so I could see them.

Re: exhaust tips and exits
Here are acouple pics, on is the 91 Silverado that I had and th eother is my 84 GMC. I also have the same basic setup on my 2011 truck. The Megs tips take up little room and work so well.

Re: exhaust tips and exits
this is what I did with my tips, had them in a couple different spots until I did this I like the look of the side exit behind the tire but ruined a bunch of tips over the years since the tires flings rocks and junk at them
sorry for the poor quality of the pictures only had my phone on me and the lighting sucked Last edited by stroker87; 03-04-2012 at 08:33 PM. |

Re: exhaust tips and exits
Cool!
Just what I needed to know. Those look like BF Goodrich Radial T/A's. Are all 4 the same size? Any issues with clearances, rubbing, etc ?

Re: exhaust tips and exits
Here is mine. I got it done last week. I made sure he ran it so I could lower the truck eventually. It is a 2.5" mandrel bent system with magnaflow cats and borla mufflers. It sounds great! I can carry on a conversation in the cab, but it sounds great outside the truck. Its the exact sound I was going for. Manifolds and no H pipe.

Re: exhaust tips and exits
I got the magniflow cats from advanced auto (used coupon for discount), the rest of the items I got from the shop that did the work.
2 generic magnaflow cats - $106 2.5" pipes, 4 hangers, from manifolds back - $390 2 generic borla mufflers $260 So my total was $756. I am VERY pleased with it, as it is exactly what I was looking for. Not the cheapest, but its got great quality and he nailed the look and sound I wanted. I almost went with flowmaster 50's but I am glad I didnt because the borlas are stainless steel where the flowmasters are regular steel. |
