Barn Door Adjustment
Having some issues.... converted from tailgate to barn doors on my burb. I see how to adjust front to back and up and down but not side to side. Upper left corner is hanging up a tad so I need to shift it towards the passenger side but see no way to do it.
Ideas? |

Re: Barn Door Adjustment
Door adjustment can be done at two places; at the hinge straps to door panel and at the hinge cage to piller. Before adjustment is made, striker plates should be loosened and adjusted after door is located properly. The door can be moved in and out at the piller and the door can be moved up and down at the hinge to door panel. Move door as required and tighten bolts. Normal surface of door outer panel and body outer panels must align from flush to + or - .060" of being flush.

Re: Barn Door Adjustment
What about some shims under the hinges?

Re: Barn Door Adjustment
I thought about that and did put some in as a temporary solution, however seeing if there is a right way to do it.

Re: Barn Door Adjustment
My suburban with barn doors had factory shims in a couple spots to line things up properly. So I believe shims are the correct way to make the adjustments needed.

Re: Barn Door Adjustment
Both of my upper hinges seemed to be bent(had wide gap in between doors at top and narrow gap at bottom. Ended up having to "adjust" the hinges with a BFH. Probably not the preferred method, but was effective.
