How about some Smoothie wheel pics!!!

Smoothie Pics Please! Caps too!!!

I will soon be converting to 5 lugs and disks on front with a 5.5/5 drop and am considering smoothies. Wide on the back and stock width on the front. What is the widest wheel (including back spacing) that I can fit on the back with no modifications?
Should I go with 16's or stay with 15's?

I've got a '66 lwb with ralleys on it now.

Re: How about some Smoothie wheel pics!!!

My 65 had weld draglites that were 15x10 with a 4.5" bs on 275/60/15 tire in the rear. They tucked but were real close. I had to trim the inside fender lip too. If I did it again I would use 5" bs. This was on a 71 5 lug axle that still had trailing arms. 15x7 in front with 4" bs on 235/60/15. With a 16" I dont think you will have as good of tire selection. Truck was lowered 5.5" front and 7.5 in rear. Sorry I dont have a pic.

Re: How about some Smoothie wheel pics!!!

Running 15x7 smoothies all away around with bullet lug nuts. Was gonna go with the long center bullet caps but decided to keep em simple. Here's some older pics of my truck...I personally would leave them 15"...

Mine is the first one. I'll be getting custom centers soon and they now sport raised white letters. The yellow one is my fav on this site.

Re: How about some Smoothie wheel pics!!!

here's an idea - since you want to go with caps and have front/rear width stagger - use 71+ K10 wheels on it - 15x6 up front and 15x8 on back - and then you can use stock (or most any 10.5" chevy cap), keep the "look" of stock steelies - AND clear disk brakes. I know I've seen several of each size in the for sale section. Just an idea. I like smoothies, but I like steelies a little better - just my personal pref. The steelies have the 4 windows where the rim was assembled - and that is the stock look. With a cap on the wheel, you cannot tell the difference between a 15x6 K10 wheel and a stock 15x5.5 60-66 wheel, but folks will wonder how you squeezed disks behind em (unless of course they are members here!)
That's my 2 cents, which won't even get you a cup o coffee.
