Re: Stainless radiator tubes SBC

Im interested again, changing my system....my outlet on the bottom comes out straight, how does yours come out of the radiator

Is your engine mounted in the forward holes of the frame or the back two?

Re: Stainless radiator tubes SBC

Tube on the bottom comes out straight at the bottom and I used the forward mounts from Preformance on line with my SBC, you use short couplers to connect the tubes.

Re: Stainless radiator tubes SBC

Really wish i could use these, they are nice! But, with my engine sitting in the rear mounting, and the angle of my water outlet, i just dont think these will work. Wish they would

Anyway, heres a bump for you

Who made them for you?

Re: Stainless radiator tubes SBC

SHouldn't there be a short section of rubber hose at least on one end to allow for the engine and radiator to flex at different angles? It appears there are none in this setup.
Looks nice though.

Would he build another set, somewhat similiar....

Could you get a overall lenght of the top tube, outside to outside, i might be able to cut your bend and put a rubber hose on it. Wouldnt look as clean as yours, but...

Re: Stainless radiator tubes SBC

I dont hink he would build a tube unless your truck was here, I will measure it up tomorrow, both tubes are exactly 5" shorter than the stock rubber hoses, same exact bends and all, I think they would work perfect with any SBC application, I held them next to my stock 72 C10 set-up and I would only need to make the couplers 1/2 longer to use them, but its a stocker.

Re: Stainless radiator tubes SBC

Well, fat chance my truck will ever be in oregan
Seems like the angle is differant than yours, i can rotate it, just cant change the up and down angle

Plus mine is a 4X4, so the engine sits back about 2 1/2"

Re: Stainless radiator tubes SBC

Top tube 1 1/4", bottom tube 1 1/2", just like the stock set up, the couplers are just 4" pieces of stright Rad hose with two stainless clamps or I used the Gates power clamps on the upper so it looks cleaner, I dont have a pic of the lower on, I have my core support off mounting the fenders, but it is the exact bends as the stock lower rubber hose, exact just shorter to allow for couplers
