2 project in one weekend ,,whew

Well I brought home the old 53 chevy 3100 friday night and let me say it wasnt a fun job getting it out of its hole. some one had pulled the org. front spindles and installed car spindle and left on stand well it had fall and sat for 15 years until Friday. I had to jack it up and find hubs that would fit so I could bolt wheels on it .The passenger side had a hub on it but it didnt register in my brain that truck was supposed to be a 6 lug instead of a 5 lug until Itried to bolt a factory wheel on it so I had to find a driver hub cause it was missing.
Yesterday I installed my factory tilt . Not as bad of a job that I thought it would be the only problem I have is the turnsignals . I think Im going to have to get a new turn signal assembley . I have to play with the hazzard button to get the turn signals to work.

well while I was unloading it my 4 year old son (little fast) was outside watching and my friend asked him what he thought of the truck and he said that one is going to be mine . I then said more than likely it will be his cause the time I get done rodding this one he will be old enough to drive so my answer is .... I going to clip it and slamm it , v8 , auto , air , and maybe one daygive it to him if I dont give up on it.

I have the same wheel with my tilt and also felt the shif lever was too long. A van tilt shift lever is more appropriate in length and looks much better.

fast71, You got your work cut out for you on that 53. Few years ago we were resto-in a 51. They are SO cool, but, it was also hubbies daily driver, couldnt do both, lol. Ultimately we sold the 51 and got the 70 stepside. GOOD LUCK on your project!!!
