I may have not been clear enough, I am refering to the harness plugs for the power windows/locks
Will the 80 underdash harness fit the 81 harness from the doors ? I know I have seen 80 and older trucks with 81 and newer interiors. |

I would think that they would. Really all you're doing is getting power to the switches and relaying that to the motors. Shouldn't have any trouble.

Elec Fans
Got my fans installed, work like a champ. Thanks to every one for the advice. Will be putting 17" Centerlines and billet interior trim on in a week or so. Then it'll be time to relax for a while on the upgrades. ..yea right!

Well I will be getting my doors next week, had a bit of a problem getting them this week.
My buddie found two doors loaded on a 81 blazer at this shade tree mechanic we have known for years (he has a mini junkyard), he quoted me 120.00 for both, and are in excellent shape with a couple 1/4" dings in each door !! I was a happy camper seeing how another yard wanted 175.00-250.00 per door ! Well I sent my buddie to get them while I was out of town, as he is pulling the first couple bolts another buddy of ours shows up and asks why he is pulling doors off his blazer My buddy said that he had bought them from the owner, he said, it's not his truck to be parting out. Come to find out the blazer had been at this guys place for 3 or 4 months and the property owner was tired of looking at it and started parting it out. Well I talked to the real owner of the blazer, and he agreed to sell me both doors for 225.00 ( 105.00 more than orig) but still a good deal. |

If the plugins don't work just get a wiring harness from the truck the doors came from and install it it is seperate from the main dash harness and very easy to put in. I don't think that the plug in will work because some of the early power accessaries used les wire to the relays.

Pull the whole door harness out of the truck. The power setup for the windows/locks are a seperate harness.

door wiring
80-81 should use the same harness. The only possible diff might be the power window motor, if so you could change it out with the one out of your old door. Most of them I have delt with have been the same. Good luck Tibbar
