Differential Cover - Steel Where to buy?

Where in the world can I find a plain black/steel axle cover for a 12 bolt? Everyone wants to sell chrome but not just plain ole steel. I have a crappy chrome cover now, and would prefer to just have a plain non-showy cover back there.

Anyone have a tip?

Should be able to get one at any wrecking yard.I like the plain simple style myself also.I woulodn't think they would get too banged up so you could probably blast or sand it down and paint easily.

I am really kicking myself for throwing my original away when I was teen.

Uh, wow. Just realized I have a parts truck in my yard. DUH! The new owner of it will get a nice shiny chrome cover on an otherwise rusted frame.

Re: Differential Cover - Steel Where to buy?

It's crazy but you can't find the stock steel covers anywhere. I put an ad on here awhile back and waited a couple months until another board member gave me one for shipping cost. I HATE the chrome covers. I took my truck for a rear end service once and it came back without the stock cover and with a chrome one : (
