1963 chevrolet 1/2 ton p/u 454 swap

does anyone have any ideas on how to overcome the z-bar/ crosshaft ball on the engine from interfering with the exhaust manifold or headers ???,i'm sure someone has had this problem before and i need to solve it or else give up on the big block idea,i want to use a manual transmission and do not want to get involved with hydraulics, help needed desperately !!!!!

Without completely re-designing the bellcrank assembly to use the rear stud hole in the block, the easiest is to just convert to a hydraulic clutch. That's what I will be doing if I do end up putting a big block in my '66 C30.

I second that....go to hydraulic clutch or have headers fabbed around it. Im told some of the block hugger headers will work. Or factory cast manifolds
