Why all the hub bub about green glass?

I've ready a few threads where people are looking for it. Why all the fuss, Gus?

Maybe they are looking for what the truck originally had?

Green tint was the upgrade on all cars & trucks forever, until boring modern cars that nobody cares about. All A/C vehicles got Soft Ray. It's just cool...literally

Might be still available in replacement glass.

My truck has the original green tint glass.

Re: Why all the hub bub about green glass?

The OEM Soft Ray is somewhat rare to find in excellent condition. But no,many trucks came with it. It was an option by itself, but mostly found in "all" a/c trucks. So,figure how many a/c trucks there were (pretty many) and add more for non-a/c trucks ordered with tint. When it comes to vent windows,it's rare to find the vent window assemblies and glass in excellent condition. Those are desirable because they save a lot of work, parts searching, are better than reproduction, individual parts will add up and you still have to assemble them. If you don't care you can save money on clear windows or buy replacement glass new.

Hmn. Interesting, I just replaced green glass with one piece windows. Was curious about it. I'll install them in my other truck.

Re: Why all the hub bub about green glass?

My Sierra Grane has the green soft ray glass (AC truck) and i do like the look. My truck is 2 tone green and white and glass really does accent the look.

I agree same with my Sierra Grande,I replaced the glass with Soft Ray and it does suit my Spruce green and white.

I knew of a blue and white Sierre Grande years ago and the tinted glass almost had a "blue" shade to it.
