Vapor canister lines

i was putting my order together for Inline Tube, and i see they have Vapor canister lines. Should i be runnig a vapor canister with the 454? I dont think the 72 had one on it when i got it. I know the 71 does. Not alot of time spent on using them.
Thanks

Re: Vapor canister lines

I did not have the lines hooked up to the vapor canister on my '71 with a 454 and it ran fine.

I just left the vapor canister line hooked up to the tank, but open ended under the truck to allow the tank to vent.

Re: Vapor canister lines

I was told a long time ago the Vapor canister help with gas mileage keeps the tank from pressurizing and it keeps back pressure

I wonder if that's my problem with poor MPG. I'm hooking it back up!

Re: Vapor canister lines

Apparently, old school hot rodders say do away with the canisters, and mechanics say keep it because it will aid with MPG.
